Broilers are voracious eaters because of their genetic make-up and grow very fast; todays (Average Daily weight Gain) target is 3gm per hour. Broiler chicken like to eat very frequently if Feed is available and the environment is comfortable. In this farm Feed is being given after 6 hours of Starvation due to supply issues and the Hungry broilers are seen Fighting to reach the Feed. Broilers can not sustain starvation unlike Layers or breeders.
Automatic Feeder Line for Broiler Chicks involves very little manpower compared to Auto Feeder (Manual). In contrast, with Automatic Feeder, feed is continuously coming to the feeder tray and Chicks can access the same feeder tray conveniently from the very first day of life till harvesting. The video shows Excellent Feeding of first week chicks. This system reduces Broiler Product Cost on account of manpower & Average Daily Weight Gain.
Temperature is the prime factor to be taken care in Chick Brooding due to relatively higher Body surface area than the body Mass of chicks. Winter night brooding temperature control in an open farming system is a challenge which can be better managed by Coal Oven Brooder, if necessary manpower is available. Labour & Ventilation are the key issues in coal oven brooding due to night time jobs of making the Oven ready and production of CO & CO2 inside the shed from coal burning respectively. Coal Oven can raise Brooding house Temperature from 6 degree to 30 degree Celsius easily as seen in the video where chicks are eating, drinking & playing in a comfortable environment.
Crazy Chick Disease or Encephalomalacia due to Vitamin E Deficiency in chicken with characteristic signs of Ataxia, Tremor, Disequilibrium, falling on the back, frequent movements with the wings, Convulsions and Torticollis; when the chicks are unable to stand and may be towards back.
